AG-CelRed is a new type of nucleic acid dye that can replace ethidium bromide (EB), because of its unique oily macromolecule characteristics, it can not penetrate the cell membrane into the living cells, and the results of the Ames' test show that the dye is not mutagenic at the concentration of gel staining. When detecting nucleic acids by agarose electrophoresis, it can be observed by the same common UV gel imager as that of EB, without changing the filter and observation device. The nucleic acid bands stained by this product show red color under UV light transmission and can be optimally excited near 300 nm UV. This product has many advantages such as high sensitivity, low toxicity and high thermal stability, especially for the detection of trace small molecule DNA with higher sensitivity. It is suitable for agarose or polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis and can be used for dsDNA, ssDNA and RNA staining.
