This product is a recombinant protein obtained by constructing the phage T4 DNA Polymerase gene into a plasmid and expressing and purifying it in E. coli.
This product is a template-dependent DNA polymerase that catalyzes the reaction in which deoxyribonucleotides complementary to the template are sequentially and selectively ligated to the 3’-OH end of the primer under the presence of the template and the primer, and it can be applied to smoothing the 5’-prominent end of DNA. This product also possesses single-stranded DNA-specific 3’→5’ exonuclease activity and lacks 5’→3’ exonuclease activity, in which the 3’→5’ exonuclease activity is approximately higher than that of Klenow Fragment. The 3’→5' exonuclease activity is about 200 times higher than that of Klenow Fragment, which can be used for smoothing the 3' prominent end of DNA.
